Alt coin tracker v2 - Auto fetching latest price from bittrex

Yoooooooo!!

The Alt Coin Tracker sample from Peter is really helpful for me. But unlike Peter, I’m a lazy person and just don’t like to do things manually. So I added some changes to Peter’s sheet, so it will automatically pull newest price data from Bittrex every minute.

If you guys like it and I’ll share the scripts in here.

Anw, to the mooonnnnnnnnnnn!

Wow this is awesome work! I would love to have that if you’re interested in sharing. Is this through google sheets or msoft excel?

I don’t have thousands in the game like some people, YET, but i’d still like to track my moon ticket automatically. Can I give it a go and plug in my data?

Here you go!!

You may need to authorize for the Google’s sheet script to run, just make a copy, check the code if you afraid of anything :P.

Are you just hooking into the API of Bittrex, or are you scraping the webpage to grab the info?

I’m just using the Bittrex’s API

Cool. I had no Idea you could do that from Google sheets. Maybe its a bit more useful then I realised! I will definitely have a look at this when I get home from work. I was gonna do something similar with my spreadsheets

Will let you know how I get on I have had a look. Thank you.

Im just calling a simple request from bittrex’s API from here:
https://bittrex.com/Home/Api
Ex: I get the latest Btc’s price by calling: https://bittrex.com/api/v1.1/public/getticker?market=usdt-btc

Yes, @hoangmrb has the simplest and very effective way.

Just use that example and change the market to reference the markets you want to look at.

So in google sheets one cell can be =IMPORTdata(“https://bittrex.com/api/v1.1/public/getticker?market=usdt-btc”)
Another cell could be =IMPORTdata(“https://bittrex.com/api/v1.1/public/getticker?market=btc-neo”)
etc etc
Then you can use that data to calculate the worth of NEO or BTC positions in USD/BTC

Hi there! I am trying to get =IMPORTDATA(“https://bittrex.com/api/v1.1/public/getticker?market=usdt-btc”) to refresh every minute on google’s, but can’t do the trick (it seems to refresh every hour minimum). Any tricks or workaround in that mather? Thanks!

bittrex API’s have never worked for me in excel. the querys dont retrieve much except the table itself. wish i could figure out why. the coinmarket cap API works perfect in excel

There is no need to change anything at all. Just fill in your coin at the Tracked Coins column, the amount of $ that you bought, amount of shares that you have, etc… Just leave the BTC VALUE and Current BTC Price alone. Click on the Script menu center > then run the script (You may need to authorize for it). You can check out the code in Tools > Script editor. Make your own sheet by copying it then you are good to go… to the moonnnnnnn.

If you have the running script in your sheet then:
Open the Script editor > Select the script that you want to refresh > Edit > Current project’s trigger > Create new trigger.

And set it as smt like this.
