Interesting read. Thanks
more coins unstaked means I get more staking rewards. So no worries.
Yeah i just staked some more. Making bout 1cx a day I think
one really dumb question. I just started the stake game in the ICX wallet and just voted my ICXs but how do i unstake in case i want to get out? Do i just decrease the vote?
Every help for this nooby question is welcome
Keeping it simple, there is a waiting period when you make an un-staking claim and that’s currently at 8 days. Why? One of the most notable reasons is that it helps to prevent price manipulation.
The incentive on keeping it this way is that staking ICX decreases circulating supply, which potentially leads to a higher priced ICX. This also means that the reward rate per year goes down.
On the flip side, If more people sell their ICX rather than stake, the reward rate increases, meaning you get more ICX returns per year. It’s to keep a balance between participating in the network vs those who actively trade.
You get rewards in the form of “i_score” that you can claim for ICX. 1000 i_score = 1 ICX. You can claim this at any time without waiting.
You can check out the current stats at: https://icxstakr.io .
Hope that helps!
@markusjay Doing a great job keeping us updated .
Came here to share. Thanks for sharing
How often is the iScore updated? I have staked two days ago and still 0 iScore or am I just inpatient?
That depends on two things.
Have you voted?
It usually takes 24 hours after you’ve staked/voted (in block time). I_score is distributed everyday.
Hey guys, here’s a breakdown of today’s ICON x Shinhan Bank news.
Looks like Shinhan Bank will be using the public ICON network and ICX.
This is so exciting. Eager to see what future holds for Icon.
Check the staking lossless lottery grand which should come to life soon. I think its brilliant.
Check out iconbet.io, 80% of casino excess is given to players and literally creates 80% of ICX TX’s. Goign to be huge with upcoming 6 games THIS year and staking next week.
Fully open source DAO platform.
Hi guys, i have created an article with more information about Iconbet!
Is there any way to find out more in depth details of the processes that occur technically. I get that its essentially PKI - correct me if im wrong im always wanting to learn more!. ICX is sent over to a server and in response a digital certificate is issued to provide authentication. And understood because these are legit entities (banks, universities, etc…) they offer validation to the market place. But how much ICX is required for a digital certificate, that is if im thinking about it correctly - Would it be correct to think of the transaction as a fee of .000001 icx/user registration (arbitrary) or is there a private deal setup and this information is not publicly available. Curious @markusjay @Genesis.
I think this great article will answer your questions. It doesn’t involve the direct implications between private and public usage (like banks and such), but it should give a general idea of how things are done at a technical level. You can then apply what you’ve read to your questions/concerns.
