IP address question

I am new to cryptocurrency.
I just signed up for Bittrex and got the message below when I went to sign in, Is this normal?
I have not used this account before, but the IP they show is not my public IP address.

“This is to notify you that we have detected a login from an IP address or device that has not been used by this account before.”

This is why 2fa is a good thing. Don’t click the link if you are not sure

Did you actually log in when you received this message? If not you might have been hacked. If you did login then maybe your public ipaddress has been changed by your isp?

I don’t know what the deal is I got the same email. I checked the site to see if this meant something, filled out a support ticket to notify Bittrex of the email and that I had not used a different IP address. Support tickets take a long time to respond to, so tonight I okayed the “new” IP address and logged in.I inspected the email to look for any anomalies and it looked like the others from Bittrex. I have multiple computers so I didn’t know if that was the reason–seems it’s something w Bittrex, nothing happened, wallet was intact.
I’m going to change my authorizations tomorrow. Can’t say if your situation is different but this is what I did.

Go to https://www.whatismyip.com to make sure your up address matches what the email says. Also, enable that damn 2FA!

I did not allow access to the account when that message came up and closed the browser.
When I entered the address for Bitrex, I used www instead of http and a porn site came up, I did not click on anything, and backed out and used http. My question is can you get a key logger virus by landing on the site if you do not click on anything? John McAfee in his security videos talks about key loggers.

When I go to https://www.whatismyip.com/ it matches the address they list but if I go to https://ipinfo.info/ it does not. Why would I get two different addresses?

That’s odd. Both sites match when I go to them.

You’re using the same browser for both sites? Cleared your cache(ctrl+F5)?

So the tin hat me says scrub everything and reinstall from scratch. Then lockdown and only use one device for a while.

This will most likely happen when your ISP updates your dynamic IP, unless you have a static IP.

i get this when i tether my laptop to my mobile or if I’m on a public network. You will need to confirm the email it will send you. Also turn on 2fa, your IP at home shouldn’t be changing that often. Where are you logging in from?

Yea i get this too, i feel like as long as your IP address matches with the one they want you to confirm with you should be good
