Relevant to what I just posted:
Josh Lubin, co-founder of ethereum, and Brad Garlinghouse, CEO of Ripple, both believe investors should largely avoid ICOs. In appearances on CNBC, the two cryptocurrency leaders said many ICOs are fraudulent and provide little real value for those that invest with them. Garlinghouse called ICOs “fraud” that currently operate in a gray area without regulation. He said a number of investors have ended up suing the companies they once invested in. He believes that regulatory gray area will one day close and ICOs will disappear. Until then, the ICO market has boomed with more than $3 billion invested in companies through that method this year alone.
