Rx 580 6gpu for beginning

#1

Hello Cryptonation!
Hope everyone doing great!

Today I’m moving to China so I was thinking to build mining rig with these parts :

1 x Intel G3930 7th Gen Celeron Desktop
1 x ASUS PRIME Z270-A LGA1151 ATX
1 x Ballistix Sport LT 8GB DDR4 2666 MT/s (PC4-21300)
6 xSapphire Radeon NITRO+ RX 580 8GB
1x EVGA 1600w platinum
1x SanDisk SSD PLUS 120GB
1x Mailiya 6-Pack PCIe Riser Adapters
1x Windows 10 Home Edition USB

What you guys think about this build ?

Drop the SSD and replace with either HDD or use SMOS (Can also drop Windows if you go with SMOS). You can go with a 1500w PSU instead of a 1600w unless you are looking to upgrade down the road.

I’ve heard that mining is the same like with tattoo making, always more and more hehe
I’m planing to upgrade my rig to 8 gpu in next month.

Thank you Chris for fast answer

Yeah, I’d just ditch the Hard drive all together and run a usb stick.
From my research, it looks like you have done your due diligence. Good job.

#5

Personally I run Linux, Windows has unique issues around the use of hugepages which is really needed for mining speed.

Also you said: “Today I’m moving to China”

You know China is blocking Mining Pools and other methods of mining in China (except for coins launched within China). China has banned most crypto mining and a flood of used miners and graphics cards are hitting the market already.

So you might not even be able to mine while in China.

Best of luck.

Stay Fishy!

Are you still able to find them GPUs in China? Some of my friends are having hard time to find some GPUs from china

#7

Yes, there seems to be quite a few, I just checked.

Sites like:
JD.com
TMall.com (or Taobao.com) same company, but TMall is considered more reliable.
DangDang.com
and of course Alibaba

I hope you can read Chinese

Stay Fishy

#8

I guess. Which one you need ?

#9

I was looking for Vega 64 or RX580

#10

Ready to mine :joy:

#11

Looks awesome :sunglasses:

What temperatures are the GPUs running at with your setup? I like the use of the extra fans

Not related, but might help if you need to get around the great firewall.
Some companies even sell routers with built in vpn.
