Wanchain HQ (ICO, tokens, trade, wallet)

I thought that after the other HQs (TheKey, Elastos, AION) I start an HQ thread for the Wanchain too, to collect the information in one place about this coin. At the moment I don’t have time to collect all the starting info about Wanchain here, but I will do some linking to other threads where Wanchain was mentioned. Be free to add your knowledge.

The biggest news recently…soon they will release the WAN coins on exchanges.

I just initiated my swap for WAN ERC-20 coins to WAN coins. For a computer illiterate person like me to be able to simply install the WAN wallet in several minutes was pretty cool. Does anyone know exactly when these coins will hit Binance or other exchanges? My guess is that it will be after February, maybe sometime in early March?

I believe I saw on their twitter that they will most likely hit the Exchange sometime in February.

Looking forward for when that happens

Did you get into the ICO?

What does that action do?

They may not want to release the coins right now in this bloodbath.

I would prefer as I didn’t take part in their ICO. It would be nice to catch a lot of WAN coins at low price. In the bloodbath much less people can invest money. They try to save their ass and can’t sell coins because they would suffer FIAT loss. For Wanchain I think it doesn’t matter who holds their coins.

This.

If it dropped today, the only option for me would be to drop in new fiat (used all my ETH for ICX and I ain’t selling that shizz low).

Fortunately, my father was able to get it since he’s not a US citizen. All we are doing is exchanging ERC20 (ethereum based) tokens for actual WAN tokens

Gotcha.

Very lucky for you. Hope it does well for you guys.

I’m confused how do u acquire erc20 tokens and exchange them for WAN.

O-o. You should read this:
http://support.exodus.io/article/108-what-is-an-erc20-token

I remember that you have ICX tokens which is actually ERC20 token because it was released on the Ethereum chain as ERC20 token. When ICON gives us the instructions and the wallet access, we will be able to swap the current ICX tokens to real coin (their mainnet is already live like Wanchain too). When this happens the ERC20 tokens will be burned.

Who has WAN ERC20 token that means that he/she took part in the ICO.

Does this mean when ICON real coin will no longer be able to be put into Ledger Nano S?

Yes. That is my problem too. I bought a pendrive with built in encryption - protected with PIN. I hope Ledger will give a support for ICX soon after the swap.

…and it is problem for WAN holders too.

Interesting, thanks.

I just bought a Ledger myself last week so still trying to make sure I know the ins and outs of it.

Yes, hopefully there will be ledger support soon.

Question.
If I have some ERC20 token, I just follow instruction to swap for WAN. Do I know at what price I have WAN?

Thanks.

  1. First you have to have your tokens in the wallet that you originally bought WAN from.
  2. Download WAN wallet, create an account, and then see what your PRIVATE AND PUBLIC addresses are.
  3. https://swap.wanchain.org/
Go here to enter your WAN wallet PUBLIC address and also your MEW ERC20 wallet address to swap.

I hope that helps!

Um it depends on which presale stage you bought it at… if you go to etherscan and check out how much ETH you transferred for your WAN tokens, you can calculate it based on the ETH price that day you purchased WAN.
