right so ive been doing martingale on stake crash for about 2 weeks. base bet £5, cash out at 2x, double after every loss until i win, then reset. up about £300 so far and its been dead consistent.

i KNOW the reflex here is to call me an idiot who reinvented losing. but instead of just doing that, can someone actually explain WHY its wrong? because from where im sitting its printing money and i cant see the flaw yet. anyway im genuinely curious, not braggin

ok ill do it properly, no dunking. martingale doesn't fail because the idea is stupid, it fails because of two walls you haven't hit yet.

wall one: every crash round is INDEPENDENT. the game does not owe you a green after a run of reds. so a losing streak can run much longer than your gut says it can. wall two: doubling grows insanely fast. base £5, lose eight in a row and your NINTH bet is £1,280 - to win back a fiver. you will slam into either the sites max bet or the bottom of your bankroll before a bad streak ends, and the moment you do, you lose everything the system slowly won plus your stake. it wins small a hundred times and gives it ALL back in one streak. that's not variance being unlucky, that's the actual design of it.

ok but ive not hit anything close to 8 reds in a row in 2 weeks. whats the realistic odds of that even happening at a 2x cashout

Roughly 1 in 256 for eight losses in a row at a 2x target. Which sounds comfortably rare - until you remember you are placing dozens of bets every session, so you are rolling that particular dice constantly, night after night. Rare per-attempt is not rare over a month.

And here is the part the streak maths quietly hides: even on a flawless run, the house edge means the sum of everything you wager slowly bleeds. Martingale does not remove the edge. It just reshapes your results into "win small very often, lose enormously very rarely". The average outcome is still negative. You have had two good weeks. The distribution simply has not shown you its teeth yet. It will.

No betting system beats the house. That's not my opinion, it's the entire reason the house is happy to offer you the game in the first place.
Here's the bit that should end the argument for you: if doubling-up actually worked, casinos would ban it on sight. They don't ban it. Instead they put a maximum bet on the table. Ask yourself why that maximum happens to sit at roughly the point where your doubling runs out of road. It isn't a coincidence, son. The wall was built for you specifically.

@chapmanwins's nailed the important bit. the table limit isnt there by accident and it isnt there to protect you. its there specifically to kill martingale. the whole system depends on being able to double again, and the max bet exists precisely so that one day you cant. they let you play the system because they built the trap it walks into

on crash specifically there's an extra one: the round can instant-crash at 1.00x before you cash out anything at all, so your "2x target" isn't even the only way to lose the hand. and every site has a max bet + max payout cap.
i actually mapped this once. your base bet plus the sites max bet tells you exactly how many losses in a row wipe you out - its usually somewhere around 8 to 10 doublings. so you're permanrntly one streak away from zero. you don't FEEL that, because the streak hasn't landed. but the whole time you've been "up £300", you've been standing on that trapdoor

ok this is landing a bit more than i expected it to. but heres my sticking point - ive genuinely withdrawn £300. its sat in my actual bank account. how does that square with the "system loses"

easy, and its the most important thing in this thread: you're in the win-small phase. EVERYONE is, right up until they're not. the £300 isn't evidence the system works, its the bait variance uses to keep you doubling. i can flip a coin and be up for a solid hour - that doesn't mean i beat the coin.

so here's the genuinely smart move available to you right now: withdraw the £300, close the app, and never martingale again. then you'll have actually beaten it - by QUITTING while a streak happened to be kind to you, not because the system works. that's the only winning move on the board and its sitting right in front of you.

im gonna save you some time @Rollathon because i am you, one year ago. martingale on crash. up about £400 over three weeks. felt like id genuinely cracked something, told my mates, felt clever. week four i hit the streak. and cause the system had trained me to believe a green was DUE, i chased it. doubled past my own limit, then past what was in the account, into the overdraft, absolutely certain the win was one more bet away. it wasn't. lost the £400 and about a grand that wasn't even mine.
system works flawlessly right up until the one time it doesn't, and that one time is built to take everything, plus whatever you'll borrow trying to win it back. thats not a warning mate. thats a receipt.

martingale is crude though, thats the real problem. i run a modified version - i only start doubling after 3 losses and i hard cap it at 5 doubles then reset and eat it. way safer, you never get the runaway blowup. the trick is discipline, not the system itself

@spinControl no. capping it just means you take the big loss in a controlled, smaller way instead of one catastrophic blowup - which is better for your BANKROLL survival, genuinely, im not knocking that. but it does nothing to the maths. the moment you cap it, you're just... betting, with extra admin steps.

no progression changes the house edge. not martingale, not your capped one, not fibonacci, not dalembert, not paroli. NONE of them. thats not a debate, its settled. a system can change your variance - how bumpy the ride is - it cannot change the average, which is negative. you've made the ride smoother. you haven't made it profitable.

This is the single sentence worth taking from the whole thread: a betting system can change HOW your losses are distributed. It cannot change WHETHER you lose on average.
Rearranging when the loss arrives is not the same as avoiding it. Every system ever invented is just a different-shaped path to the same negative expectation. Some paths feel smoother, some feel more exciting, they all arrive at the same place.

its true, all of it. my uncle he had the roulette system, the double one, for years. little by little he win, and he was so proud, he show everybody his notebook with the numbers. then one night, i think was seventeen red in a row, and he lose everything and more than everything. is always the same story no? the system it give you the confidence, and the confidence is the exact thing that cost you in the end. the notebook was the dangerous part

ill say the thing im not supposed to say as the resident crypto guy: no system beats the edge, thats just real, hexdek is right. BUT at least on crash YOU control the cashout. you can play a low multiplier, high hit-rate style and grind slow. still -EV long term, obviously, but at least its not a slot doing it to you at 200 spins a minute while you black out 🤷 pick your poison and go slow

controlling the cashout doesn't beat the edge either though, it just moves the variance around AGAIN. cash out at 1.1x, you win maybe 90% of hands and feel like a genius, and the 10% still drags the whole thing negative long run. low variance is not low loss. its the same leak, dripping slower. slower can be better for your sanity, sure. its not better for your balance

hang on so ur telling me there's NO way to actually beat crash?? like literally none at all?? then whats the point, why does anyone play it 😭

you can win a SESSION, easily, happens all the time. you cannot win FOREVER. that's the entire distinction. its entertainment that costs money on average, not a way to make money. the second you start treating it as income instead of entertainment, you become @Rollathon in post one of this thread. play what you can afford to lose for fun, cash out, log off. that's the only sustainable way to touch it
