genuine question botherin me lately is anyone here actually profitable over like 6+ months of regular gambling?
see all these youtube vids of people hitting massive wins on slots but never see the followup of whether they kept it or dumped it all back
personally im down about $2k over last year which tbh isn't THAT terrible but also not great lmao
 
Short answer: no
Long answer: still no but with explanation :geek: house edge guarantees you lose over time on every single casino game. this is mathematical fact not opinion. the more you play the closer you get to expected loss
only possible exception is sports betting if you actually know what you're doing but even then most people lose. you know bookies know math too

Being up for 4 months doesn't mean the system works long-term. You're in a positive variance streak. Variance can last months or even years before regression to the mean catches up. Blackjack house edge is around 0.5% with perfect basic strategy. That means over thousands of hands you'll slowly bleed money. So your $800 profit is more of luck, not skill.
Not trying to be harsh, just realistic. Enjoy the win but don't assume it will continue forever
 
sports betting is only thing where you can actually be profitable. been betting football for 3 years, up about £4k total. not life changing but consistent. but lets be real casino games are pure donation to the house

this is my boy!! i do mma betting and if you actually study the fighters, watch tape, understand odds you can get edge
problem is most people bet emotionally or chase parlays for the big payout. that's how you lose

fairly Bowser that discipline is good but will slow your losses but it doesn't change the math tho. i mean every single hand you play has negative expected value. doesn't matter if you bet $5 or $500, you lose 0.5% of it on average and that's if you do it right otherwise it can be disastous
your $800 win means you've been on the lucky side of variance. when you regress to the mean you'll be down overall

gambling for years and overall im down about €1500-2000 which honestly could be worse considering how much ive played
had some massive wins (hit €3k on one slot session) but yeah... gave most of it back after a time so now i just deposit small amounts and see it as entertainment cost like netflix subscription or whatever

Sure poker is different because you're playing against other players, not the house. House just takes rake. But only if you're better than average players at your stake level, yes you can be profitable long-term even with rake. But you need to be significantly better to overcome rake + variance.
Most people aren't as good as they think they are friend.
 
right anyone profitable on slots long term is either lying or hasn't played long enough! house cut on slots is like 3-5% so even if you hit a massive win eventually you'll give it back if you keep playing.. only way to "win" at slots is hit big then literally never play again lmao
 
i know a guy who hit €40k on gates of olympus and actually stopped playing
but yeah thats like one in a million. most people (including me) would just keep playing and lose it
 
alright fine maybe im just on a lucky streak but even if i end up losing that $800 eventually, i've had fun doing it and that's worth something
not everyone gambling is trying to get rich some of us just enjoy it
 
from my experience the only consistent winners are:
- sports bettors who actually do research (rare)
- poker players at low stakes who grind rakeback and bonuses
- people who hit big early and walk away forever (extremely rare)

everyone else is entertainment spending or slowly bleeding money. i personally treat it like entertainment budgt. deposit $100-200 per month, if i lose it fine, if i win i withdraw most and keep playing with small amount
 
biggest problem with crypto casinos is how EASY it is to deposit again! i mean with bank transfers you have time to think. with crypto its instant and when you're tilting that's dangerous af
lost $600 in one night because i kept redepositing trying to win it all back. at least got enough braincells to admit my mistakes and never doing that again

yea been there man. the instant deposits are both blessing and curse. now i only keep limited amount in my wallet when gambling. if i lose it i have to wait til next day to deposit more. forces a cooldown peroid
