SCAM ALERT! lost money to telegram "bonus bot"

so i feel like a complete idiot right now but maybe this helps someone else not make the same mistake i did. been following stake on telegram for the bonus drops they post and couple weeks ago got a dm from what looked like a stake bot offering 1000% deposit bonus no wagering which seemed insane but i thought maybe its a special promo or something? they had the stake logo and everything looked official. bot asked for my stake username then told me to deposit crypto and the bonus would show up in my account automatically. sent $200 usdt to the wallet address they gave me and of course nothing ever showed up in my stake account. tried contacting the bot again and its gone, account deleted. i know i know its obvious now but at the time i really thought it was legit because it was on telegram where stake actually does post real bonuses. anyone else fall for this or am i the only dumbass here
 
daaamn mate thats a known scam, stake even posted warnings about it. real stake never asks you to send crypto to a wallet for bonuses. you claim codes on their actual website
 
These fake bots are everywhere on telegram now. They advertise themselves in the real stake channels which makes people think they're official.
Did you check if the bot handle matched stake's official bot? Usually the fakes have slightly different names.
 
how do you know which telegram accounts are real vs fake? i follow a bunch of casinos on there for bonuses
 
this sounds exactly like what happened with fake bc game bots few months back. seriouslu it has same pattern looks, promises crazy bonus, takes your money and disappears

yeah that was bad, people lost thousands
the fake bc.game used "bcgames" or "bc-game" domains instead of the real "bc.game"

Don't beat yourself up too much. These scams are designed to look legitimate. The problem is Telegram allows anyone to create bots and message people. There's no verification process.
Real casinos will never DM you asking for deposits. All bonuses are claimed through their official websites.
 
well i lost $50 to similar shithole last year so i feel you! telegram scams are getting really sophisticated, they copy everything perfectly
