so i deposited £100 on bitstarz, took the 100% match, had £200 to play with. got up to about £340 on the slots, went to cash out and it just wont let me. something about wagering.. tbh never taken a bonus before

is my money gone or am i missing something here? feeling a bit mugged off ngl

ah, welcome to wagering requirements mate. you haven t lost it (probably), you just cant withdraw until you've wagered the bonus a set number of times first. its the catch on basically every deposit match. whats the WR say

well it says 40x. is that a lot?? cos it definetly sounds like a lot
and it still wont let me even though im up

40x is standard for a package that size, but it is a lot of play. 40x on the bonus means for a £100 bonus you have to wager £4,000 before the bonus and anything you won with it unlocks.

But here is the one that actually catches people: while a BitStarz bonus is active your max allowed bet is £5 a spin. Go over that even once and they can void the entire bonus and everything you won with it. That is almost always what has happened when someone says they were "up £340" and then it vanished. Did you bump any spins over a fiver while you were playing?

...oh. yeah when i was a bit down i did a couple of £10 spins to try and get it back quick. so i've binned the whole lot?

done exactly that once. one £5 spin, while limit was one oor two whole bonus and all the winnings gone. its not hidden, its right there in the terms, but nobody on earth reads the terms before they click claim. now i mostly don't take thet bonuses or you'll literally need stick to the monitor "MAX BET 5 QUID" pal

100% really why do i ever touch that stupid bonus after this??1 the second you accept it your own deposit gets locked behind their maths too. id rather put my hundred quid in clean and know every penny i win is mine to pull whenever i like. no rollover, no max bet, no timer, no "voided". just my money

and if you DO grind a bonus, watch the game weighting. slots usually count 100% but blackjack and roulette often count 5-20%. so if youre clearing a 40x on table games you're actually wagering 5-20x MORE than the headline. slots only for clearing a bonus, every time. bitstarz is 5% on tables iirc

this is why i mostly play jackbit now tbh. the welcome free spins are no wagering, whatever you win off them is just cash you pull straight out. no 40x, no max bet trap. withdrew off it last month, hit my wallet in a few mins. not every site does the big locked-bonus thing

regulated US side is a bit tamer but same idea. BetMGM's deposit match is 15x and slots only, so a $100 bonus is $1,500 of slot play inside 14 days. their $25 "on the house" is only 1x. still, "bonus dollars" are not real dollars until you've ground them out. everybody sees "100% up to $2,500" and nobody reads the 15x under it

because the headline number is bigger and shinier. "up to 5 BTC!!" looks mad next to jackbits little 100 spins, so people claim the big one without reading the 40x. its designed to look generous. also fwiw stake doesn't really do the big-match-trap thing, its more rakeback and weekly reloads, different animal, you're not staring down a giant wagering wall

Let me make sure I have this right. They give you a "free" £100, and to touch it you must gamble £4,000, on their chosen games, at their chosen stake, inside their chosen week, or you forfeit the lot. What a generous gift. Offline offers free bet as a free bet. It wins or it doesn't. You don't need a spreadsheet and a solicitor...

If we had enough laugh i'd offer one simple rule of thumb: only take a bonus if you genuinely intend to grind the wagering, you've read max bet and the game weighting, and you can afford to lose the deposit doing it. Otherwise deposit clean like @goodoldfiat says. A bonus isn't free money. Its a contract you signed by clicking claim.

honestly most people don't read none of it, i never did, thats how they getcha. your better off just not takin' the bonus at all if your not gonna sit there and grind it out proper. alot of faff for a bonus you probly wont clear anyway

yes because the bonus is not really for you it is for them to keep you playing because when you have the wagering requirement you must keep betting and betting to clear it and while you are betting the house edge is taking from you on every spin so by the time you clear the 40x if you even clear it the math already took more than the bonus was worth so it is not a gift it is a way to make you play much more than you wanted and this is why they make it a big number to look nice but the terms is where they take it back and most people they never even finish it so

another one-breath thing huh? anyway "the bonus is bait to keep you playing so the house edge grabs it back" is the actual answer to slotracers question. its not a present. its a leash with a nice number on it
